My Very First Intrusion

My first GM Intrusion seems like it's going to be more of a long term social effect. My player clearly defined his character, Corbin, as preferring the company of animals over people and overall just not being very social at all.  Corbin is seen as delivering the killing blow to the jiraskar that was attacking a village.  The intrusion I'm planning will be that the villagers that saw the killing blow now consider Corbin their hero.  They will heap a great deal of praise and near worship upon him and they will all want to spend a great deal of time with him. (I may be making a lot of work for myself.)
Is this a good intrusion? Thoughts one way or the other?
