The Obsidian Monolith Podcast / Re: What do you think?

This is probably putting the cart before the horse, but do you have any feeling if the adventure/campaign will be ready for purchase by the end of 2015?  I'm sure the approval process will add a few months to it....

Heard on the podcast that you are starting up Edge.  I have all of the books for EotE, AoR and the Force and Destiny Beta book.  If you have any questions, I'd be happy to help out.

Couple of things:

All 3 books are set at the same time.   Just after the Battle of Yavin.  Force and Destiny is not after Episode 6.  The careers aren't Jedi - if someone wants to play a Jedi, then the FaD options of "Knight level play" with 150 xp would be a good idea - though that gets you closer to a Padawan in my opinion.

Consider the Beginner set - gets you an adventure (and a free follow up at the FFG website if I recall correctly) and a set of the dice.

Also, I'd suggest the Order 66 podcast.  They usually have Sam Stewart, Jay Little or a FFG writer on.  I think Jay was at their convention last year and Sam is going to be at this year's.

Couple of podcasts I've started listening to.

http://feeds.feedburner.com/dancarlin/history?format=xml - **** History - only listened to the World War I part, but really good.

http://podbay.fm/show/536258179 - If you want Strange, give the pilot a listen.

It's on my list of favorite podcasts with the Order 66 podcast.

Congratulations on your campaign becoming an officially licensed product!

In case it's helpful, my book plate came well before the core rulebook and special edition.

The bookplate came with my Strange stickers, folder, signed art, that stuff.  Did you get that earlier - if so, might still be in there.....

A chance to talk about me?  Taken.

I started with the D&D basic set in the late 70's.  It was all solo stuff I did for myself, but it did lay a seed for the future.   When I hit college, I found others who played and that brought me back to 2nd edition D&D at that point.   Small amount of Call of Cthulhu and Stormbringer, as well.  Loved Palladium, but no one played it.  Then meet two people who really changed my life and joined the first Amber diceless game in Iowa City.  This was before the rulebook came in, and they just had a few photocopied pages.   That got me to run my first real games using GURPS Fantasy and Supers.  GURPS was a great system for the time.

Moved to Vegas for a girl.  That didn't work, but met my wife through gaming friends (mostly Magic).  We got heavy into 1st Edition L5R - the best game world I've ever played in.  Never bothered to try any of the 3 later editions.   We moved back to Iowa, and for the last 11 years or so we just game for each other.  So, pretty much diceless.  Mostly an odd mis-mash of Marvel/DC superheroes now.  Currently working on a 3 generation game using Mutants and Masterminds 3rd Edition.

I'd love to do fantasy again, but can't talk her into it running it for me.

Looking forward to Age of Rebellion releasing in a couple of days.  And of course The Strange (August, I think).

Thanks for the further recommendations!

It would be rude to not provide some of my own....

I have a love/hate relationship with Warehouse 13, but if you want a show about one take on artifacts....this is it.

Black Adder - I may the be only person who likes Season 1, but I liked all of them.

Rumpole of the Bailey

Psych - it's going off the rails last season, though...

Red Dwarf

Burn Notice

I picked up Season 1 of Orphan Black based on your recommendation, and wanted to say Thank you.  It's a very interesting show (and you really can't discuss it without spoilers), but it has depth and gray, which I really appreciate.

Any other recommendations?  ;D
